Bio

I paint the everyday things that I see around me.

I have been painting for over 30 years now. I had drawn all of my life but got serious about painting in my early twenties when I met the woman who would become my wife. Her parents were both watercolorists and they worked with me, advised me ,and critiqued my work. Through their tutoring I became serious about the craft.

I work in oils and watercolor in a realist style. And for the most part I paint the things that I see around me on a daily basis. And while I will certainly paint landscapes and scenery from places that I visit, it is my own little world in Tennessee that inspires me the most.

I've now been painting so long that it is as much a part of my life as my family and friends. And even during the very few hiatus's that I've had over the years the thought of painting was never far from my mind.

My favorite classical painters are still the ones that I've loved since the beginning - Andrew Wyeth, Caravaggio, Vermeer, Whistler, Homer, and of course my mother and father in law - Katie and Melvin.

I hope that you enjoy my work!
