The subject is a bank of cumulus clouds. Whenever we have an interesting weather front come through middle Tennessee I try to stop what I'm doing and catch it. Clouds are a lifelong study for artists. They are very challenging and very interesting to paint. These were to the Northeast with the light primarily from the west. The white building in the painting is a small pump house on a farm a few miles from my house.

The subject is a bunch of four radishes. I was really taken by the reds, and the strange stems that curl from the bottoms. This is the first time that I have painted them and it made for an interesting day. The colors remind me of Christmas, but as I was painting I kept thinking that this would make an interesting painting for someone's kitchen or dining room. Fun painting to do. I hope that you enjoy them too.

The subject is three peppers. A jalapeno, a habanero, and a red chili. The wooden box is an old eye-glasses case that my grandfather had, probably from the 1930's. Painting peppers is always interesting because of the intense colors. Today I wanted to do something different than the typical 'pepper on a table painting'. So I put them in their own little compartment in the box, the divider is a piece of cardboard cut to fit which I think gives it a neat studio painting feel. To me this painting has a significant color intensity and warmth. I hope that you enjoy it

The subject is two plums and an apricot. I've painted plums once or twice over the years and I really like the deep reds and violets that you get to use. But the apricot today was an amazing subject. This is the first time that I have included one in a painting and it was so much fun to work with. With the lighting on it there was an endless array soft, semi-translucent colors. That little apricot made my Saturday. I hope that you enjoy them.

The subject is a farm with multiple barns and buildings. This farm is incredible. It has a large white stone house with a red roof, and numerous barns and buildings on a huge expanse of green fields and pastures. Today it was the sunlight that got me on this one. It was a very bright sunny day today and I tried to incorporate as much of it into the painting that I could. I hope that you enjoy it.

The subject is three Krispy Kreme doughnuts. This is a bit different than my typical still life subjects, but honestly what's better than doughnuts? This painting borders on hyper realism and it made for an interesting day of painting. When I started it this morning there were a few things that made me wonder how I would paint them but the painting came together easier than I expected, especially given the extra detail. I really like the result. Hope you like them too.

The subject is rolled hay bales in a farm field. This is a farm a couple of miles from my house. It is off of a really pretty country road that is bordered by a creek on one side and farms, fields, and hills on the other. . This is the first cut of the season and I thought that I would paint them today. I painted this one a bit more brushy and impressionistic than some of my landscapes because I didn't want the bales to be too set and detailed. Hope that you enjoy them.
