This is a stand of winter trees in a field. This scene is on farm land that my family owns in north-central Tennessee, near the Kentucky border. Winter scenes are some of my very favorite to paint, and this farm has a lot of paintable areas. The farm is in an area that is about as remote as you can get in the mid-south, so its very easy to get synched up with the environment when painting here. I was attracted to this composition primarily because of the scruffy look of these wind-blown trees, and the heavy brown winter grass. I'm very happy with this piece, I hope that you enjoy it too!
