Daily Painting - Still Life- Apple

Apple 6 in. x 6 in. Oil On Panel - Bid on or buy this painting.

The subject is a single apple. Typically when I do a still life subject like an apple I paint it chiaroscuro where the subject emerges from a dark area of the canvas or panel and the light originates typically from the right but at a lower angle. Today I wanted to paint this apple with a light background and with the lighting originating from the right, but higher up. This apple was full of yellow, gold, sienna, and orange colors. I really like the effect of those colors against the lighter blue-grayish background and table colors. I hope that you enjoy the painting.
