The subject is three navel oranges on a stone tile. Before today it had probably been four or five years since I painted oranges. So today I thought I would have a go at them again. What I was after with this painting was the yellowish orange in the light contrasted against the darker greenish colors in the shadows. The left side orange has a really neat half-tone shadow cast by the center orange which is really just one brush stroke. I hope that you like them as well as I do.
